WBHO Bursary

WBHO Bursary


WBHO bursary will be offered to applicants who are currently enrolled within one of the following fields stated below.

Students will be required to attend compulsory training for one week in July/ July, they will also be required to do vacation work during the holidays.

On completion of their qualification, students must undertake a work-back contract whereby they will work for WBHO for the equal duration as the bursary awarded.

Who Can Apply for WBHO bursary?

WBHO bursary applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

South African citizen
Completed Matric
Studying full time towards one of the aforementioned qualifications
Studying at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa
Achieved a minimum average of 60% for previous year of study

SAMRO Bursary

SAMRO Bursary


SAMRO bursaries are offered to applicants who are currently currently studying towards a diploma or degree qualification (from their second year of study), majoring in Music.

SAMRO bursaries will be awarded to the value of R11 000 per applicant, for the payment of tuition fees only.
 
Who Can Apply?

SAMRO bursary applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

South African citizen/ Swaziland citizen/ Botswana citizen/ Lesotho citizen
Completed Matric
Registered and studying at a recognised South African University
Studying full time (in second/ third/ fourth year/ honours/ masters degree) towards a Diploma or Degree majoring in music

Unfortunately, the following applicants are NOT eligible for application of this bursary:

First year University students
Doctoral students
Bridging programme/ foundation programme students
Those studying at private tertiary institutes (Academy for Sound Engineering/ AFDA/ COPA/ City Varsity etc)

Basil Read bursaries are issued under a programme which was started with the aim of helping financially needing students to follow their dreams and continue their studies in light of their financial positions. Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study:

Civil Engineering (BSc/ BEng)
Mining Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ National Diploma)
Quantity Surveying (BSc/ BSc Hons)
The following expenses will be covered by the bursary award: registration fees, tuition, prescribed textbooks, stationery, accommodation and meals.

Afrox Bursary


Afrox is looking to offer bursaries to students studying within the engineering faculty. The Afrox bursary applicant must have good academic results and limited financial resources. The bursary recipient must have completed (and excelled) in their first year of study in one of the following fields:

  • Chemical Engineering bursaries
  • Industrial Engineering bursaries
  • Mechanical Engineering bursaries
  • Metallurgical Engineering bursaries
 

The bursary will cover: tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation in residence and food. The bursary is valid for one year only and renewal is subject to academic results and vacation work (during June/July and December/January holidays).

The Ernest Oppenheimer bursary is specifically for current Matric students who intend on studying Engineering, Geology or Accounting, at a recognised South African tertiary institution in the following year.
